Wedding Card

Okay, so after all my bragging about having so little commuting to and from work and lots of stamping time each day ... I haven't actually managed to achieve much yet this week ... like I said, so little time and so much to play with!

Here is a card I made tonight. The invitation to Jan and Pricey's wedding was in red and silver, so I followed the colour scheme. I have to say that I struggled to make red look elegant ... hope it worked out okay in the end.

I used the GORGEOUS "So Swirly" Jumbo Wheel by Stampin Up .. I think this is soooo beautiful when embossed. I also grabbed a flower and a hat-pin with crystal beads and pearls from the Pretties Kit. I embossed the stamping in a non-SU sparkle silver and used a Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls embossing folder to dry-emboss the red cardstock. Lastly, added some flatbacked pearls to the embossed stamping. (Oh yeah, the Congratulations is non-SU also. I need to add to my SU supplies!)

So it is 'contaminated' with Non SU product, but I like it. The wedding is this weekend, and will be a wonderful celebration of love and commitment between two fantastic people. I am really looking forward to it.
Till next time
Cheers
Kate :)

There once was a woman with time on her hands ...

Yeah right! We all know that the statement above is a myth, right!

Try this then ... there once was a woman who lived in the "Middle of Nowhere in Particular" (which could be the other name for a very special little town remotely located smack in the middle of Australia, in the red heart of this big country, which if officially known as Tennant Creek) Anyway, this woman had a friend in Alice Springs who suggested she could come up for the weekend, drink the odd bottle of wine and spend lots of time playing with stamps and inks and bling and ribbon .... the said woman thought this sounded BLOODY HEAVENLY and before she knew it, the next phase of her stamping career had begun ... as a Stampin Up Independent Distributor!!!

Said woman was in heaven ... so little time, so much playing to be done! She had resisted the notion for some time now ... every time she visited her girlfriend in Alice, she had been shown some latest design, a new layout, a fabulous colour combination ... and each time she had walked away sighing 'one day' ... one day I will make time to fully indulge ... well, on a meek and mild October weekend otherwise known by the auspicious and appropriate title as World Cardmaking Day, the last of her resistance just melted away and like an addict begging for her next fix she breathlessly asked "Where do I sign?"

So began the life of Kate of Stampin Up! Desert Stamper, stamping up a storm in the red desert at the very heart of Australia! She is a woman who has dabbled in every craft known to man, who met her stamping friend from Alice through work and instantly thought she had found her 'lost sister'!! Mind you, until they met, she had no idea that she had lost a sister, cos in fact she grew up with all brothers .... sisterhood was a foreign concept to her, but the shared joy of crafting passions brought these two women together so much that they travel 500km to visit each other! And that is only one way! The other 500km home seems to take MUCH longer!

Welcome to the little bloggy part of the web that is dedicated to all things crafting, cardmaking and generally Stampin Up of the woman known as Kate Foran! Thanks for dropping by ... if you have a sense of humour, if you don't mind the odd bit of sarcasm and if you enjoy matching your ribbon and ink to your cardstock in a myriad of beautiful colours then you just might enjoy yourself here! Along the way, in my own perbose manner, I reckon you just might learn a little about living remotely in the desert heart of Central Australia too! Consider it a travel/stampin blog that might just touch your heart and give you a thirst for a bit of our red dust!

So I introduce myself to the world as the latest Independent Stampin Up Demonstrater (signed up over a fine bottle of Shiraz about 30 minutes ago!!) ... and the very first to inhabit my part of the world, Tennant Creek and the Barkly Region ... a mere 283,000 square kilometres of the most beautiful rugged scenery in the whole universe! If you don't believe me, Tiger Airways flies to Alice several times a week ... come on up and check it out! I have the luxury of NO peak-hour traffic, which affords me at least an hour or two stampin time each and every day! Watch my blog blossom, watch me spend that non-commuting time making cards that will make your mouth water ...

Jump right in, I assure you the water is oh so fine!!

Cheers
Kate
